About me

Hey, I am Johanna, a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, who lives and works in the beautiful Black Forest in South West Germany.

I have a degree in Design with focus on Illustration from Macromedia University in Freiburg which lead to me working as an illustrator at a studio with a range of visual styles and projects ranging from slightly grungy music videos over colorful visuals for kids to infographics and explainer videos.

Working as a graphic designer for several years and my Bachelor‘s degree in Architecture have established a sound basis regarding my layout and design skills. And while my inner “Monk” cringes when things are not properly aligned and loves structure in graphic design, you can often find a playful aspect in my illustrations.

I really enjoy breathing life into characters and combining the creative potential of “what if” with some unlikely protagonists.
